Planning for ABQ

howdy all again,

First, there is an assumption that many of us will leave on Friday afternoon to early evening (intending to arrive by 8 p.m. or so). I don't know what schedules are but it would help if we shared travel plans.

I believe that Jason Karl ad Ryan Bybee are going up for Saturday only (so if that fits your plans let them know for travel plans) -- correct me if this is wrong Jason.
Rich Murdoch has stated that he will go up Friday afternoon and has a truck that will carry him and Kaden (as well as 4 more folks) (room for bikes in the truck)

I don't have a confirmation from anyone else who is planning on driving or their available space(s) so please indicate if you are driving, etc.

Rich will also be our Bobby Busche (aka waterboy) for the races and pass up water bottles for the race (Rich wear your ZV jersey)

Our old ZV racer Sid Solano said he has a vacant apartment on Menaul near campus that he will confirm is clean for us to sleep in before friday (confirmation on Tuesday or Wednesday)

thanks for coming to ziavelo.blogspot.com to fill out a survey for some planning of travel and rooms if you want to help us organize some.

thanks, dave

Starting 2012 with some OCHOS

There has been a gaggle of riders hitting some 80+ mile rides and they have really been getting strong. Today was the first time ZV did the laps of the OCHO in Picacho hills area. I was a good ride and the day warmed up nicely.

Registration for the 2011 Race season is here.

Please go to http://www.newmexicosportsonline.com/ZiaVelo.htm and register for the 2011 ZVRC season.

The cost is a flat $25.00 and there should be no additional fees on your card. And, to quote the SOAPBOXER (Shane Cunico)

"Memberships this year will be $25.00. These are funds to support the
team, buy the annual USAC license, pay fees for the races we sponsor,
etc. After sponsorship is finalized, there WILL be additional
benefits from being a member, but at this time, we cannot, with any
degree of certainty, describe what they will be.

SOAP BOX
Once the membership drive period is over (about the same date as the
jersey order), no other FULL Memberships will be available. What does
that mean? It means that anyone joining the club after that date will
not receive the same benefits as the members that do so before that
date. It is a simple matter of economics. Once we know what
sponsorship we have, we want to help out the members in the best way
we can, and it will not be fair to have folks join, just because of
the bennies. We want team members who want to be a full and
enthusiastic member of the club, not someone looking for a handout.
We are a racing club, you are encouraged (though not required) to
race.
